BELIEVE in the Future

Thank you for your support! You helped to bring the power and promise of science to our community through new live science stage programming, new exhibits and our expanded Purdy-Weissenborn paper lab. Much more is in store for 2022. With your support, the PDC can reach more students, both in person and virtually, expand our hours of operation, design new programs, and offer exciting, world-class exhibits to our community.

This year, we decided the time was right to change our mission to reflect more clearly our identity as a science center. When we say that the mission of the PDC is “Motivating the community to experience the world through scientific exploration,” we mean that we recognize the importance of approaching problems through the lens of science-by asking questions and taking a hard look at the answers. We advocate for informal learning opportunities for all students and we want to expand these opportunities especially for those who come from communities underrepresented in STEAM fields. We know that the opportunity to participate in Science,Technology, Engineering, Art and Math plays a role in our children’s well-being, our environment and our country’s place on the world stage.

You can help our community build a STEAM pipeline to feed job growth in our area and help students visualize themselves in fulfilling, well-paying jobs. Your donation will support programs that emphasize problem solving, creativity and a love of learning...helping our community develop a vibrant, inclusive and scientifically-educated workforce. With an emphasis on creativity and problem solving, we will take a hands-on approach to experiential learning through open-ended exhibits and programs. We want to guarantee that future generations have the tools they need to think critically and solve the challenges of tomorrow.

With Sincere Thanks,

Carol Couillard, Executive Director
